| Eat
a high protein breakfast, lunch and or dinner prior
to your scheduled appointment. Since we will
be moving chi (energy) in your body we will be utilizing
a lot of body systems therefore relying on available
materials for metabolism to be available in your bloodstream.
Do not allow any food to alter the color
of your tongue. This is an important diagnostic
tool in which the color of the tongue reveals deep
states of the body.
Try to arrive in enough time to be able to
sit for a few minutes prior to your appointment.
If you are unable to do this, just try to stay relaxed
on your way to your appointment. A rushed heartbeat
can alter and mask the pulse which is also used to
diagnose.
Wear comfortable clothing. In many cases
you will not be asked to change into a gown for treatment.
Many acupuncture points are located in areas where
loose fitting clothing can be adjusted and moved to
reach a point. In addition, it is best to allow the
chi to flow freely without restrictions of tight fitting
clothes.
Consider changes or issues you would like
to present to help me better understand your status.
It is important to remember that I am using a holistic
approach which will involve looking at your entire
body even if you are only interested in treating one
issue. Often illness “appears” in an area
of the body but is “manifested” from another.
If you have multiple health concerns please recognize
that there will be an “order of importance”
that I will use based on my training. I will work
on one area of interest at a time rather than multiple
things at once. It is often ineffective to take on
more than one focus when working energetically. |
